Code of Conduct
We, as active members of the Alberta Fire Safety Association, are committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and competence in our life safety services and products. We recognize that our work significantly impacts the quality of life for the people of Alberta.
1. Compliance with Regulations: We will always conform to the current Alberta Fire Code, Building Codes, and their associated Standards. Adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and standards pertaining to fire safety services is paramount.
2. Qualifications and Certification: We will only use personnel who are certified or qualified as required by the Alberta Fire Code to perform our work. Trainees will always be supervised by certified or qualified personnel.
3. Continual Learning: We will strive to continually update ourselves through formal and informal training on products, Codes, and Standards. Staying current with advancements in fire safety technology and best practices is essential to providing the highest quality of service.
4. Customer Safety and Communication: We will prioritize the safety and well-being of our customers. We will proactively warn clients of any safety, health, or fire issues we observe on their property or with their employees. Communication with customers will be clear, respectful, and transparent.
5. Professionalism and Integrity: We will conduct ourselves in an honest, truthful, and professional manner that upholds the principles and integrity of the Alberta Fire Safety Association. We will promote the objectives of the association and foster collaboration and cooperation within the fire safety industry.
6. Confidentiality and Privacy: We will maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information obtained during our work. We will respect the privacy of our clients and ensure that any confidential data is handled securely and protected from unauthorized access.
7. Safety and Well-being: We will prioritize the safety and well-being of ourselves, our colleagues, and the general public. Adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines while carrying out our duties is crucial to ensuring a safe working environment for everyone involved.
