I am reaching out on behalf of the Calgary Fire Department (CFD) to businesses that service life safety systems.
As you may be aware, the Supra lockbox product line has been discontinued by the manufacturer, including all parts, service, and support. To maintain security and compliance with the National Fire Code (Alberta Edition), existing Supra lockboxes must be retrofitted with the approved Knox Lift-Off Retrofit Lid (Model KLS-3292) by December 31, 2026.
Your organization may have relationships with building owners, business owners, and property managers who could be affected by this requirement. As such, we are asking for your assistance in helping communicate this information to your customers.
Attached is additional information in a PDF that can be forwarded directly to customers who may have Supra lockboxes installed on their buildings. It outlines the retrofit requirements, ordering process, important deadlines, and contact information for additional support. Please forward both this email and the PDF to your customers.
Retrofit lids must be ordered by October 1, 2026, and will be programmed and installed by CFD free of charge until December 31, 2026.
Your assistance in sharing this information will help ensure building owners, business owners and managers are aware of the upcoming deadline and have sufficient time to achieve compliance.
